A Duel of Alchemists
Solve et Coagula
Alchemy made playable. Summon creatures drawn from the elements, forge them into greater beings in your furnace, and outwit your rival before they transmute you first. One world, told across a card game, a Fortnite island, and an RPG to come.
The Work
Alembix is a head-to-head duelling card game built on the real chemistry of matter. Every creature is an element. Every fusion is a genuine reaction. Behind the painterly artwork sits a system that rewards both the curious newcomer and the deck-building tactician.
The Core Loop
A match is a single clear rhythm. Learn it once and every card finds its place.
First · Summon
Play Element creatures from one of nine tribes. Each sits on the table, attacks, defends, and quietly feeds your pool of alchemical primes.
Then · Forge
Consume creatures on the table to forge a Coagulum from your furnace. Bring iron and oxygen together and out comes Crocus, rust given form. Bigger, stronger, and forever changed.
Finally · Strike
Attack to tap creatures and break your opponent's defences. Strip their side bare, then land one undefended blow. The duel is yours.
The Tria Prima
You never draw a resource card for colour. Your creatures emit the three classical primes themselves, so you can never be stuck without the right element. If it is on the table, you have it.
Body · Structure
The principle of the body. Salt is defence: walls, endurance, and creatures that simply refuse to fall.
Soul · Fire
The principle of the soul. Sulphur is aggression: flame, force, and the attack power to burn a board down.
Spirit · Change
The principle of the spirit. Mercury is speed and transformation: the swift, the slippery, and the ever-shifting.
The Nine Houses of Substance
Every Element creature belongs to one of nine tribes drawn from the families of the periodic table. Lean into one and the rewards follow.
Spirits of the Breath
Makers of Salt
Children of the Ash
Earths of the Bone
Walkers of the Threshold
The Heavy Brethren
Lords of the Forge
The Hidden Airs
The Radiant Line
The Athanor
Before the match you load five Coagula into your furnace, hidden from your opponent until the moment you forge. Each slot fires once. Pick your line-up carefully, because the timing of a fusion can decide the duel.
Fusion is transformation, not destruction. A creature shielded from harm can still be fed to the fire, and what emerges is something far greater.
Easy to learn, deep to master
Your Quintessence is simply the round number, so you always know what you can afford and both players grow in step. No flooding, no screw, no dead hands.
Safety nets keep the game moving: a free cycle each turn, a flexible mulligan, and a draw you can always rely on. New players ignore the primes entirely and still play well. The depth is there the moment you want it.
The World
Alembix begins with two sisters. Maria and Antonietta, both chemists, both raised in a family of doctors and scholars of the old alchemical arts. When Maria falls ill with something no doctor can cure, Antonietta takes up their great-grandfather's life's work: the transmutation of matter, and the search for the philosopher's stone. Not for gold. To save her sister.
His maps lead her into old Etruscan country near Viterbo, to a viper the full moon draws into a perfect circle, and to the ground opening beneath her feet. Below lies the hidden library of the great alchemists, its shelves unbroken, its heart still waking. She finds her great-grandfather's name signed on the wall among the alchemists who came before, adds her own beneath it, and a dragon of a hundred colours asks whether she is ready to walk the path.
Knowledge, it tells her, is won through a thousand trials and more. Every element she gathers, every creature she binds, every fusion she forges is a step along that road towards Magister of the art. That is the world you enter: real chemistry remembered as magic, the periodic table reimagined as nine warring tribes, and one motto for the whole work.

Built Fair
Alembix is free, and no card is locked behind a paywall. Spending can broaden your collection faster; it never buys card power.
Dismantle duplicates into Stardust and craft the card you want. Nothing is paywalled, and the best cards are reachable for everyone.
Every booster pack shows its drop rates, its pity timers, and its duplicate protection before you ever open it.
Spending accelerates collection breadth, not the strength of your deck. Skill and choices decide the duel, not your wallet.
Your cards are account-bound, held server-side and undo-protected. They live on your account, full stop.
One World, Many Doors
The same primes, the same nine tribes, the same Athanor. Whichever door you choose, you are an alchemist of the Border.
